Mike Hanigan: Oh, why don't you introduce me?
Phoebe: Rita, this is my husband.
Mike Hanigan: Why don't you tell her my name?
Phoebe: Ok, I will. This is... this is my husband, Crap Bag.

Monica: Hello, Miss Buffay.
Phoebe: Oh, that's not my name any more.
Monica: Oh, you changed it? Congratulations, Mrs. Hannigan.
Phoebe: No, that's not my name either.
Monica: What did you change your name to?
Phoebe: Princess Consuela Bananahammock.
Chandler: That's what we were gonna name the baby.

 

I didn't change my name when I got married. Hubby was ok with it , but would have prefered it if I took his name. Lots of people called me Mrs. A and I would get mad saying they were inviting hubby & HIS MOM to something not me. It has also backfired on me - now when I meet new people who didn't know me as single Ms.S they assume S is my married name!!! In 2007 when we had a baby girl she became LSA and I am happy with that. I am S at work, email and its how I am known to most people, I have come to happily accept being called MRS A and even added it to my facebook page.  Currently it is a struggle since L just started preschool. We have CA & LA and ES but are known as the A family.

 

It may be confusing and not everyone (esp his family) doesn't understand but I have been able to keep my name, accept his name when its used and am super proud when Ms. L uses her full name!
